PocketSDR is provided by Ham Shack Ventures, LLC.

This policy explains how PocketSDR accesses, uses, and protects information when you use the app.

Information PocketSDR Accesses

PocketSDR may access the following information and device capabilities:

• Microphone audio, when you use transmit audio features.

• Local network information, to discover and connect to compatible radios on your network.

• Radio connection information that you enter or select, such as radio address, remembered radio details, and SmartLink login/session information when SmartLink is used.

Location Data

PocketSDR does not collect location data from the user's device. Any location data displayed on-screen is from the connected radio itself, and not from the user's device. This data is obtained from the radio's GNSS or GPS receiver and reflects the location of the radio transceiver and is shown as a "Maidenhead grid square" for sharing location on-air with other amateur radio operators.

This location data is never shared with third parties. This data may be shared with the developer for analysis and app improvement if requested. An explicit opt-in and manual sending of crash reports is required in this case. No data is ever sent to third parties without your consent. This location data is never used for advertising, tracking, analytics, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

Microphone Use

PocketSDR requests microphone permission so the app can send your voice audio to your connected radio when you transmit.

Microphone audio is used only for radio transmit functionality. The app does not use microphone audio for advertising, tracking, analytics, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

When transmit audio is active, microphone audio may be sent to the radio you are connected to. For local network connections, this audio is sent over your local network to your radio. For SmartLink remote connections, transmit audio may be sent through the SmartLink/radio connection path required to operate your radio remotely.

PocketSDR does not record microphone audio for later playback, does not store microphone audio, and does not sell microphone audio or share it with advertisers.

How Information Is Used

PocketSDR uses accessed information to:

• Connect to and control your radio.

• Discover radios on your local network.

• Restore remembered radio and display settings.

• Provide receive and transmit audio functionality.

• Support SmartLink login and remote radio connectivity when you choose to use SmartLink.

Sharing

PocketSDR does not sell user data.

PocketSDR does not share microphone audio with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers.

Information may be transmitted only as needed for app functionality, such as communicating with your selected radio or SmartLink-related services when you choose to use SmartLink.

Storage and Retention

PocketSDR may store settings on your device, such as remembered radios, display preferences, and SmartLink session information. These settings are stored to make reconnecting and using the app easier.

PocketSDR does not store microphone recordings.

You may delete app-stored data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app from your device. SmartLink account management is handled through the SmartLink/FlexRadio account systems.

Security

PocketSDR uses Android platform permissions and app storage mechanisms to limit access to app data. Network communication is used only for radio control, radio audio, radio discovery, and SmartLink functionality.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but PocketSDR limits access, collection, and use of information to the functionality needed to operate the app.

Children's Privacy

PocketSDR is not directed to children.

Changes

Ham Shack Ventures, LLC may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a new effective date.
